Get An Energy Audit for your Business

If your business location needs energy upgrades but you’re unsure of what the building needs or where to start, there are three valuable opportunities for building assessments available.

Green Jobs Green New York Energy Study provides a comprehensive energy study following a site visit and energy analysis. A nominal fee depends on the size of your business. Small commercial and not-for-profit organizations qualify.

FlexTech Program, another energy study option, is great for businesses with multiple buildings and/or of larger size. Commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily facilities including small businesses and nonprofits are eligible to apply. If you’re looking for a more in depth assessment, FlexTech provides an energy assessment plus helps you create a 5-10 year energy plan. This program provides a cost share of 50%-75%.

Through the Agriculture Energy Audit Program, NYSERDA will identify energy efficiency measures for eligible farms and on-farm producers, including but not limited to: dairies, orchards, greenhouses, vegetables, vineyards, grain dryers, and poultry/egg.

NYSERDA has additional programs and incentives specific to NYS farms.

Energy Savings Upgrades

If you know what upgrades your business needs or have just completed an energy assessment, there are several options to help lower the cost of upgrades.

Energy Efficiency

Small businesses in rural areas and farms may qualify for 25% grant funding for energy efficiency improvements through the USDA Rural Energy for America Program.

Additional financing options can be found through NYSERDA.

LED Lighting

Both NYSEG and National Grid offer lighting incentives for eligible businesses to upgrade to LED lights. NYSEG offers a Small Business Program. National Grid offers lighting services and rebates.
