There are a variety of programs that your local Energy Advisor can help you navigate, so you can find the best fit for your situation!
NYSERDA’s Empower+ program helps low- and moderate-income households save energy and money toward energy improvements made to their primary residence.
Empower+ incentives are based on household income eligibility and the types of energy efficiency improvements included in a project.
Low-income, single-family households are eligible for no-cost energy efficiency improvements capped at $10,000 per project.
Moderate-income single-family households are eligible for no-cost energy efficiency improvements capped at $5,000 per project.
This funding can cover a range of upgrades including insulation, air sealing, health and safety items, and replacement of inefficient refrigerator/freezer units. For homes that have air sealing and insulation completed, contractors can make recommendations to upgrade heating and cooling equipment through Empower+.
Contact your Energy Advisor for help with the application and/or with locating a participating contractor.
Households that do not qualify for Empower+ can utilize NYSERDA’s Comfort Home Program for energy efficiency home upgrades.
The Comfort Home process starts with a no-fee consultation with a trained and qualified contractor who will help you select the improvement package that is right for you, including available rebates and financing.
Comfort Home packages include:
Sealing air leaks
Insulation upgrades for ceilings, floors, and walls
High-performance windows
Contact your Energy Advisor or reach out to a participating contractor to learn more about available incentives.
