Job Opening: Lead & Assistant Technicians

Successful home energy audit business is expanding and hiring technicians to improve the energy efficiency of homes throughout the southern Adirondacks.

Motivated individuals are needed to join this niche trade and complete home performance upgrades. For 10 years, Adirondack Efficiency has been a one-woman enterprise and relied on other contractors to complete the work that comes out of their audits.

There are currently not enough workers to keep up with the demand, so two brand-new positions are being created, to be able to complete projects in-house.

Primary duties include installing cellulose insulation (both open blow and dense pack applications) and air sealing with materials such as caulk and foam.

Other tasks include installing and venting bathroom exhaust fans, venting dryers, installing weatherstripping and sweeps on doors, installing and programming thermostats, sealing duct work, installing attic ventilation, installing electric heat pump water heaters and replacing doors and windows.

Must be comfortable working in attics, basements and crawl spaces. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s rewarding! You’ll be reducing customers’ energy bills and making their homes more comfortable.

Required:

- Basic carpentry/construction skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Honesty, reliability, pride in work, and respect for customer's home

Preferred:

- Previous experience using a blower door

- Ability to perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs
